How much does a dental implant cost?
The price depends on bone volume, the number of teeth and the type of crown. The exact amount is provided in writing after the assessment.
What should I do if I was told that I do not have enough bone?
Bone volume is measured with CBCT imaging. In some cases, a graft can rebuild the supporting bone before implant placement. Seeking a second opinion is entirely reasonable.
Is ‘plantation dentaire’ the same as a dental implant?
Yes. In Morocco, ‘plantation des dents’ is the everyday expression for placing a dental implant.
My gums bleed when I brush my teeth. Is it serious?
It is an early sign of inflammation. Treated promptly, it can be controlled. If ignored, it can affect the bone that supports the tooth.
What is a sinus lift?
A bone reconstruction at the back of the upper jaw, below the sinus. The sinus membrane is lifted and bone material is placed underneath to gain the height an implant needs. Whether it is indicated depends on the remaining bone height, measured on three-dimensional imaging.
What is the difference between a denture, a bridge and an implant-supported prosthesis?
A denture is removable and rests on the gum. A bridge is fixed and rests on the neighbouring teeth. An implant-supported prosthesis, fixed or removable, rests on artificial roots placed in the bone. The choice depends on the neighbouring teeth, the bone, the gum and the upkeep you can manage.
